Mr. and Ms. Pharmacy 2006 (February 2006)

Sometime on February 2006, the College of Pharmacy held a Mr. and Ms. Pharmacy as part of Siklab, an annual variety show every February.

Anyway, I was asked to join the contest by my blockmates. And so I agreed and there I was with Randy as my partner. :D

So here are the contestants for each year level:

1 - Yen and some guy I don't remember Lester
2 - Moe and Randy
3 - Ate Anj and Kuya JR
4 - Ate Che and Kuya Ranielle
5 - I forgot the name of the Ate and Kuya Kevin

So there. :D In the end, Ate Che and Randy won Mr. and Ms. Pharmacy. I think I won the award that says I got the most number of votes. hehe. Anyway, I ranked 2nd place there. :)

After that year, there was never a Mr. and Ms. Pharmacy contest in UPCP. As in, ever. :D So Randy and Ate Che are still sitting on their thrones. Hehe! :) I wonder if this year's UPPhA will think of bringing back Mr. and Ms. Pharmacy. :)

Anyway, there was a Mr. and Ms. Pharmacy held last semester. So the reigning Mr. and Ms. Pharmacy are Jed and Tin. :)

Lantern Parade (December 16, 2004)

I wasn't around this time. But you know, it's really nice to go look back at the good old days. When were still all young... and innocent-looking. LOL

But the good thing is, we all look better NOW than how we did 5 years ago. :D

Fun with Botany 11 Friends (1st Sem, AY 2005-2006)

These are pictures taken during our Botany 11 class. My group mates were Corene Joi Geroso and Kris. The other students in the class were part of the BSP block.

Anyway, I'm getting nostalgic looking at all these photos... *sniff*

I remember the 90-cent ginger that Kris bought from Rustan's Supermarket. We got a kick out of that. LOL He was the first person I know who bought something from the supermarket that costs less than a peso. :P Ok, the ginger was for some experiment. But it was funny coz that was the only thing that he bought at the time. ^__^

The Absolute Distilled Water. I remember I always had a bottle of water with me. Now, I don't.

Corene, Kris, and I were really close then. You could call us the Three Musketeers, or whatever. We hang out together, have fun, etc. They're one of the best group mates I've ever had.

Corene was really fun, you know. :) We'd always laugh about the little things... and Kris and Corene are like the best listeners you could ever wish for. :D

I wonder where's Corene now. Oh well.

Moving on, there are some pics there of Corene and I trying on clothes... I think those were in Petit Monde and People are People.

Some shots were taken inside the Kule office. We used to spend a lot of time there during our free time. We have lunch there and we just bum around. Study and do stuff and whatever. :) The office then was still painted green and pink. Now, it looks a whole lot different from what it used to be.

You can see a pic of me with a flower tucked behind an ear. Those were the days when Jasmine Trias was the talk of the town. Some people said I look like her.

Few shots were taken inside a computer shop located somewhere along Pedro Gil. Mostly, though, were taken in the laboratory and the hallway. :D

Corregidor Fieldtrip (September 4, 2005)

This was my first ever fieldtrip in UP. For our History 1 class with Prof. Caringal, we went to Corregidor. I guess we had so much fun there even though I was technically not part of the BSOT block. :P

It was nice to get to know these people and I kind of miss them! :)

Oh good old days! I'm so thin here. What happened to me? LOL

Memorable Quotes from "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks

Here are some memorable lines from The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks...

"... the first time you fall in love, it changes your life forever, and no matter how hard you try, the feelin' never goes away... no matter what you do, she'll stay with you forever." - Noah's Dad

"I love you... I am who I am because of you. You are every reason, every hope, and every dream I've ever had, and no matter what happens to us in the future, every day we are together is the greatest day of my life. I will always be yours.

And, my darling, you will always be mine." - Noah

"So I love you so deeply; so incredibly much, that I will find a way to come back to you despite my disease, I promise you that... And perhaps, just perhaps, we will find a way to be together again.

Please don't be angry with me on days I do not remember you, and we both know they will come. Know that I love you, that I always will, and that no matter what happens, know I have led the greatest life possible. My life with you.

And if you save this letter to read again, then believe what I am writing for you now. Noah, wherever you are and whenever this is, I love you. I love you now as I write this, and I love you now as you read this. ANd I am so sorry if I am not able to tell you. I love you deeply, my husband. You are, and always have been, my dream." - Allie

Awww... So touching. :) Makes me cry whenever I read them, especially the last letter from Allie to Noah. :)

Makes me wish to have that kind of love... the same love... that exists between Noah and Allie. :)

Memo from the Vice President of Loyola Schools Community (Ateneo)

Message from UP Faculty Regent Judy Taguiwalo:

You might be interested in how our neighbor, Ateneo, is dealing with the situation brought about by Ondoy.

Judy

MEMO TO: The Loyola Schools Community
FROM : Ma. Assunta C. Cuyegkeng
Vice President for the Loyola Schools

SUBJECT: After Ondoy

For the past days, we have been hearing stories of loss and devastation experienced by many members of our community. We share in their grief and hope to share, too, in the rebuilding. This aftermath of Ondoy challenges the University's traditional learning environment; however, it allows us to learn and grow in different ways. Thus, the Deans, Associate Deans, representatives of various sectors, and I have agreed on the following:

1. Unless otherwise announced by CHED, MalacaƱang, or the Quezon City government, classes will continue until 21 October 2009, but there will be no final exams.

a.The basis of the final grade will be the current class standing of the student.
b.If a student wishes to raise his/her grade, s/he will have the option of taking the final exam or fulfilling an equivalent requirement. The deadline for completing INC or NE may be extended.

2.Classes can be used to deal with the aftermath of Ondoy, e.g., apply knowledge, skill sets, and values to understanding and managing disaster, rebuilding and rehabilitation of communities, or organizing and implementing support systems.

3.We are encouraging everyone to assist affected members of our community by volunteering and assisting in any of the following activities:

a.Collection and distribution of relief goods (c/o Ms. Mary Ann P. Manapat, Director of the Office for Social Concern and Involvement, loc. 5090, 5091, direct line: 426-1017, mmanapat@ateneo. edu)

b.Debriefing and counseling assistance (c/o Dr. Edna C. Franco, Chair of the Department of Psychology, loc. 5260, 5262, efranco@ateneo. edu)

c.Accommodation or service assistance to affected members of the LS community (e.g., community/house clean-up, food preparation, laundry, repairs, transport, babysitting, sharing IT and learning resources, etc.) (c/o Ms. Marie Joy R. Salita, Director of the Office of Administrative Services, loc. 5100-5103, msalita@ateneo. edu)

d.Medical and health assistance (c/o Dr. Raymundo S. Baquiran, Director of the Office of Health Services, loc. 5110, 5106, lshealth@admu. edu.ph)

4.We would like to get updates on members of our community who have not been accounted for. You may contact Sanggu (0928 348 1686), Office of the ADSA (0920 914 2372), or Office of the VPLS (0928 503 1248).

I wish to thank all those who have given time, resources and service to our relief operations and look forward to your involvement in the difficult period of rehabilitation.

Kule does Vol Work at Red Cross; Invades Shakey's After Ordeal (September 29, 2009)

Tuesday was supposed to be just another work day for me... with my darling groupmates (who are also, by the way, my real barkada) in IP 126 Lec. While working on our research paper inside the Kule office, an announcement came from the Chancellor that classes are suspended until Saturday. We were all rejoicing in the office. Lol. And that was while bargaining with certain instructors to move the exam, which was supposedly held yesterday, Wednesday.

The are so adamant in giving the exam. I do not see the need to hurry though. My classmates have their academic stuff washed out by the typhoon. There is no way they could clean their homes and still manage to get out of the house to borrow notes just to be able to study for an exam the next day.

Anyway, since the issue was settled already, my friends and I just finished our report. :D We finished around 4pm. :)

By lunch time, Marianne asked if I want to do volunteer work at Red Cross. Yes, of course! Marianne sent a group message then inviting Kule members to join as well. :D

Our call time was supposedly 5:30pm. But I got back to the office by 6:30pm. LOL Anyway, Red Cross National Headquarters is just one jeep ride away from the office.

So there, we did volunteer work from 8-10pm. Real simple work but really tiring. I'm glad we somehow managed to schedule an appointment there. There are so many volunteers that you really have to call ahead of time to schedule an appointment to do volunteer work! :D I'm glad that Filipinos are still helpful. :)

So there, after our shift, we decided to eat dinner. Decided to eat at Shakey's UN Ave. :D Thanks to Marianne, Gelo, Star, and Joan for the great dinner! ^_^

Slept over in the office after our late night dinner since we won't be able to get a ride home anyway. :) Thanks guys! Next time ulit!

P.S. Sorry sa mga hindi namessage ni Marianne. [insert subliminal message] Mag GLOBE na kasi kayo! :D [/insert subliminal message]

P.P.S. Tried uploading this on Facebook yesterday so I could tag people but I got an error message. :(
