JEMS and Anthea at the Silver Sparks Bazaar! :D (November 26-27, 2008)

Anthea and JEMS joined the Silver Sparks Bazaar last November 26-27 at the Alumni Center in UP Diliman. We had other friends who shared the booth with us so that we won't be spending so much on the rent. :)

It's just sad that the event organizers wasn't able to advertise the event well. I mean, apart from the place being almost in a secluded area, only a few people came. It wasn't what we expected.

Anyway, since we're already there... We still gave our best shot. :D

We're just so happy and excited because a lot of people commented on how good and beautiful our statement shirts are. Apart from being affordable, they are also comfortable. Kaya friends, order na kayo! :D It's not too late! :D Hehe...

It was hard lang to commute back and forth... From Paranaque to UP Manila to UP Diliman then back to Paranaque. Sheesh. It hurts not having my own car. Or at least someone who can drive and get me to where I wanted to be. :( Oh well, syempre... tiis lang coz we're not rich. Hopefully soon, we'll be able to get our own cars na din.

Ang saya lang din talaga sa mga bazaars coz you get to meet a lot of nice people like the other bazaaristas. Mind you, they're already expert at what they're doing. They have all this sort of paraphernalia and several large and ultra large shopping bags where they kept their stuff. Hehe. :D Ang cute cute... Ang daming magaganda dun!!! :D

Oh well... Sana sa susunod na bazaar, marami na ang pumunta at marami na rin ang makuha naming orders. Yippee! :D

Overnight at The Manila Collegian (November 29-30, 2008)

Yes. Kakauwi ko lang. Hehe. :D

Nung Monday, nagplano kami na ayon... maglabas na nga ng issue. Ang daming kasing "issues within" na malalaman nyo sa December 4.

Sa December 4 ang target date ng paglabas ng aming last (or pwede ring 2nd to the last) issue for this year. Syempre may next year na ulit.

After magkwentuhan, nagdinner kami sa Chef D'Angelo. Yum Yum!

Midtown's Giant Christmas Tree (November 19, 2008)

Been a long time since I went to Midtown. :) Wanted to have my pic taken with a Christmas tree. But I'm so small you wouldn't even see me. Lolz.

Other pics were taken during CP Choir meeting. I was just accompanying Eizel and Julie there. Free aircon. :P Elmo is the new pet of Pharm Chem. :)

Sleepless and Toxic (November 17, 2008)

Rihanna and Chris Brown's Concert aftermath. Hehe. :D

Syempre bago umuwi, nagpaganda muna. I didn't want to look like my 7am-5:30pm schedule with no breaks bothered me at all. So I borrowed Julie's eyeliner to instantly widen my eyes. Put some powder, blush, and some lipstick. (I got a new one from Lancome.) And voila!

Mukha tuloy fresh na fresh at bagong ligo. Hehe.

Rizza's Birthday (November 12, 2008)

Went to Rizza Sol's place in Cavite for the first time. :)

I had a hard time finding where Talaba is. Hehe. Naligaw tuloy ako. Oh well.. Adventure.

I had a 7-10am class that morning... then went to UP Diliman to visit Steph. :) We at Beach House. I agree, ang sarap nga ng barbecue dun! Must-try for people. Sayang talaga coz my phone's low batt that day kaya di kami nakapagpicture-picture ni Steph. Booo. :(

After that, I went to Cavite na. Oha-oha. Ang layo na ng nalalakbay ko! :D Sa susunod, kanila Julie naman. Hehe.

*Pictures from Eizel's phone.

Rihanna and Chris Brown's Concert (November 16, 2008)

As usual, sa Open Field sa The Fort ginanap ang concert. :) Thanks to Rea for the tickets. :D Super excited ko talaga manood. Actually, matagal ko na gustong bumili. Yung tig 3k pa noon yung gusto kong bilhin. Di ko alam kung Gold siya or Platinum basta yun yung price nung pre-selling period nila. Eh dahil wala namang pera pa that time, di muna ko bumili ng ticket. Then, just when my hope of watching the concert is about to die, Rea came to rescue. Yey! :D

I went to the concert with Mycel, Rea and her sister, Riza and her sister and cousins, Randy, Dante, and Eds. :)

In retrospect, the best performer that night was Chris Brown. :) Kitang-kita naman coz first song pa lang, pawis na pawis na siya. Ang galing talaga niya magsayaw. Mahirap kaya kumanta habang sumasayaw. And ang ganda rin ng mga break songs niya---songs he mixed and played in between songs. I actually recorded the whole concert but I couldn't upload them yet. Tinatamad pa coz I don't know how to rename them din. :P

Chris Brown performed from 8-9pm. Halfway, I was already bored. I wanted to see Rihanna already! :D It's a good thing though that the last few songs of Chris Brown perked me up. Woohoo! When he sang his last song, "Forever" I was like... Yey! I've been waiting for that song for like.. forever! :D

So I thought that after that I'd see Rihanna already. Lo and behold... There was a 1 hour break. But it was okay, since Globe put on some nice fireworks display for all of us. :) Yippee! And we got to rest too. It's cool because it's wasn't so jam-packed in our area. We had a nice spot where we can freely move and have a good view of everything. You could even dance if you want to--which we did.

Rihanna's first song was Disturbia. :) I love that song! I know most of her songs... especially the old ones. Hehe. Think SOS and Pon de Replay. Anyway, the way she performed Disturbia was really disturbing. It's amazing how she could roll her eyes backward and you'd only see the white. Sheesh. She went on doing that for quite some time... Really freaky. But amazing.

I love Rihanna. She's sooo beautiful. I love her long legs, her complexion, her long neck, her nice body... everything. :D What's the more disturbing part there is that Rihanna didn't dance as much as I'd like to see her dance to the beat of her songs. Maybe she's tired or something... but her dance moves didn't impress me much. Although I admire her smooth movements. Well she got some snappy moves during Disturbia. There's this funny move where she shakes her head to the right. Try leaning your right cheek to your shoulder. Just bend your head like that and make it snappy. It's funny coz everyone was kind of doing that step. Especially the guys! I couldn't try it then... and I didn't try it back home. It looks crazy on a normal person but Rihanna made it look actually cute.

Rihanna finished by performing a duet with Chris Brown. Ella ella ella eh eh eh... Umbrella! :D Saving the best for the last. To tell you the truth, bagay si Rihanna and Chris Brown. After that... bye bye na to friends.

Mycel and I went to High Street first... then walked and walked til we reached Market! Market!. We were out there looking for a cab to take us home. But with the traffic that the concert caused, there was no way we'd get a taxi near the venue. Think 70,000 people. There must be around 10,000 cars there. Lolz. Imagine the traffic.

So we walked... and by the time we got to Market! Market! we were dead tired. We wanted a drink. Good thing Starbucks was still open. Anyway, after an hour of having dinner and making chika chika, we decided to go home. May 7am class pa ko after. :D Got home after 10 minutes and nakipagkwentuhan pa ko kay Papa bout the concert. In the end, di rin ako nakatulog coz I was still ecstatic. :D

So ayon, the next day in school... Uber antok. For me, di bale ng super antok the next day (as long as walang exam) basta nakapagparty!!! :D

*Most pictures grabbed from Mycel and Rea. :) Since there are 210 pictures, I won't be placing captions anymore... :)

Theresa and Marvin's Double Pre-Birthday Bash (November 15, 2008)

It's so great and fun to see my High School friends again. :) Theresa and Marvin had their birthday celebration at JR Carwash Resto at Aguirre Ave, BF Homes, Paranaque. :)

It's a cool place with nice food. Though it was a bit hot, I really like their videoke system because they have the latest songs! :D Think Better in Time by Leona Lewis and Disturbia by Rihanna. :D Coolio!

It's great to see them again. I'm just glad that even though we have our own lives now... and they have their own careers... we still manage to keep in touch and get together at least twice a year. :) It's really a blessing that we all live near each other and that we know where each one lives. :) Kaya pag may house party, there's no reason for you not to come! :D

I'm just really glad that I got to see them again. :) Thanks Ike for the comforting words. Hehe. It's hard for to face them because of the fact that... I'm still in school... and most of them are working in top companies already. It's kind of intimidating. Hehe. But as Ike said, we'll get there in time. :) And I shouldn't compare myself with others (though it's hard not to). Nikki, you're just the best. You always try to lift my spirits... and succeed in doing so. *hugs*

It's so funny too because most of them brought their boyfriends/girlfriends to the party. How I wish I could've brought mine too. However, he's far far away. :) Dati kasi I always bring someone with me... even if it's just my brother. At least, I've got company. :D Anyway, sabi ko nga kay Marvin... Soon, may madadala na rin ako sa get-togethers natin. :) Surprise na lang. :) It's not yet the right time eh. :)

One more thing I love about my friends is that they're all so beautiful! :D Inside and out! :D Sayang lang at hindi kami kumpleto... Pero dapat sa Pasko ay kumpleto na tayo! :D

One sad thing lang... Everyone else got thin and beautiful while I got fat and ugly. Boo. It didn't help when JJ (not our HS schoolmate) told me that I'm getting fat. Emphasizing on the several curves. Hmf. Pag ako pumayat... humanda ka sakin. Hehe. (Ang bitter ko talaga pag sinasabihan akong mataba ako. Lalo lang akong napepressure na nagpapayat. Giving me more stress. Sometimes, I want to do what Jace did to lose her more than 80 lbs of pregnancy weight.. which was to starve herself for 5 months. Liquid diet lang. Kaso, nagaaral ako. Good luck naman!)

So ayon...

Belated Happy Birthday to Theresa/Apple and Marvin! Thank you!

* Pictures grabbed from Theresa/Apple. :) In the captions, their bfs/gfs will be named as respective person's bf/gf. Hehe. I'm not so good with names. :P Sorry.

Lunch Time with Bibi Van! :)

Last November 14, 2008, I had lunch with Van at Karate Kid. :)

I call him Bibi Van, he calls me Bibi Moe. One of my best buds in UP Manila. Funny as hell and a super great friend. Thanks for keeping me company... and for keeping my secrets. :)

Some creations...

of my guy bestfriend. :)

This is in relation to my previous blog entry.

Today...

Was the FJCPPhA Sportsfest.

But the point of this blog entry is not about that. So today...

I just learned how to make my own charm bracelet. :) Someone very close to me (my guy bestfriend actually) taught me how. :D He's the best! With the creations he made, you can't imagine a guy did those... :D I couldn't upload the pictures yet simply because I haven't taken a picture of my creations yet. Hehe. Soon, you will see. :D I'm still thinking a label for the accessories. :) I'm looking forward to his Christmas and Birthday presents. :D

To you, magkaiba yun ha. :D Sa Birthday yung make-up ko ha, sa Christmas na yung loot box of accessories. :D Thank yoooouuu!

I got a NEW USB Flash Drive. :D

I just got a 2GB New Attaché USB 2.0 Flash Drive care of mama. :) Yey! More storage... At least, now that I have 2 of these cute flash drives, I'll just be using one for school, and one for extra storage here at home. :)

That's $14.99 savings for me (since it came free). Hehe. :D

Although I was rooting for an external hard drive with 1 Terabyte capacity, a 2GB flash drive would do for the moment. :D Thank you so much Ma!

What I like about this is it's integrated cap holder at the back to avoid lost caps. I'm sure most of us already experienced losing a flash drive's cap right? It's so annoying to lose so little things in such a big big world. Much as I hate losing things, I hate misplacing things. :P

Balencia Gladiator Boots on Rihanna: Fab or Not?

Rihanna is probably the only person in the world who can beautifully wear this pair of gladiator boots from Balenciaga. Prior to the concert, I confided to my friends that Rihanna has this pair... and we're quite hoping that she'd wear these during the concert. She didn't.

On shoehunting.com, it was written that "if Rihanna can’t make these work, then there’s little luck for the rest of us." I beg to disagree. Rihanna looks fabulous in this pair. She has great, long, toned and well-sculpted legs and these boots are perfect for her. She downplayed the rather unique and elaborate boots by wearing a simple black emsemble. Ooh-la-la! Great choice.

Anyway, I told my friends that these boots cost $16,000 or roughly PhP 785,000.00. But I'm wrong. :P These boots by Balenciaga cost upwards of $12,00 or PhP 590,000.00 only. :P Let's just hope that these are loaners from Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquière. :)

I think it's been days since I last logged into my account. But I've been hearing all this buzz that it's been down or something.

Neway, I opened my account a while ago and I lost some friends there. Hmmm... What happened? I have more than 800 friends there eh. Mind you, I know all of them. And now they're down to 245. Sheesh. Where did they all go? Di ko na rin friend si sweetie. Hmf. COME BACK TO ME BABY! Nawala rin ibang comments. Haha. Oh well, don't care about the comments naman... I just want my friends back!!!

Sometimes...

Sometimes
all I want to do is
give up and
let go of
everything.

But I have
to fight
to go on
and live life.

I want to just
float away
and be
worry-free.

With no one
by my side
everything
is going
downhill from here.

*Sorry for breaking my sad-entry-ban.

First Day High (November 11, 2008)

My class schedule for today was 8-10am (Microbiology) and 5-6pm (Management). :)

After our microbiology lecture, we went to Robinson's. :) Sayang wala si Steph. Haay. This day is fun but uber tiring.

Anyway, while looking for a place to eat, we passed by Red Ribbon. With our saliva almost running down the sides of our mouth, we looked at the display with such awe. After much deliberation, we decided to get the Chocolate Roll. 7 kami na nagshare sa bayad. Then 12 ended up eating it. Daya... Refund! Haha. Kidding aside, the cake was really yummy. :D We ate it after eating lunch at food court. Man, I ate so much. I had daing na bangus with pinakbet and java rice plus ice tea my love for lunch. Then, chocolate roll for dessert. Just thinking about the calories makes me wanna puke. But I didn't think about it during lunch... coz I love what I was doing. Haha. :D If the food was prolly something blah, I'd puke already.

Anyway, after eating. Strolled around and bought some school supplies at National Bookstore. Then I went to CAS to meet up with Joy for business purposes. :) Then, went to DPSM to check on the status of the petition for Chem 150 for Eiz and Julie. They were actually just outside at the Oblation Garden but they didn't bother going with me inside DPSM because as they said in their baby voice, "Sabi ng feet ko tired na sila eh." Oh well. :D I had a good laugh on that one. :)

So while resting, took some pics. :) Eiz looks good with short hair. What do you think? :) We look all so pretty!!! Then I wanted to get a shot of them walking. Asked them to walk like some Upper East Sider. Haha. Julie wore my bag coz it looks fab. :D I envy them coz they have great butts. Assets!!!

So we went to Robinson's again. Then around 2pm, Eiz and I met up with Mycel. We were supposed to have ice cream at Chocolate Spoon but Eiz and I were mesmerized with Crepes & Cream. We saw Revs on the way to Chocolate Spoon so we asked her to come along with us. :D Yey! Thanks Revs for the book. :)

We went to Crepes & Cream and it's so cool coz they have this Create-Your-Own thingie. :D Thanks Mycel for the ice cream. I owe you lots na! Haha. Bawi ako sayo. Promise. :D At 95 pesos each, super sulit na. :) For me, I got Pistachio ice cream with peach slices and almond bits topped with chocolate sauce all wrapped in crepe cone. :) Yummy. You guys should try it. Highly recommended. With lots of flavors and toppings to choose from, you'd go nuts and you'd want to go there everyday just to try them all. Really sulit! :D

Mycel and Revs were gossiping over previous high school mates. They're both from OB in Greenhills. :D Rare find! So Eiz and I just listened to them. Hehe.

Then Eiz and I went back to pharm coz we have class at 5. But first we met up with Son, from Nursing, to collect payment for shirt ordered. Hehe. :D It was raining so hard on the way to Nursing Tambayan. Sheesh. We rolled up our pants (4 folds for me) so that it won't get soiled with mud. We got to College of Pharmacy clean naman and a bit dry. :)

It was the 2nd time I rolled my pants to prevent them from soiling. The first time was really memorable. It was raining so hard and I entered the College of Pharmacy so wet all over holding my umbrella with my pants rolled up mid-calf and my hair a mess. Then, Jenny Manglo was sitting on a couch there. Then she said, "Galing ka sa sakahan?" In my translation it means that I looked like I went farming... or I look like a farmer. Or something to that effect. Really. You might think it's funny but it's not. If I was really bitchy, I'd retort back with something harmful. (I know, I'm so mean.) But you see, it's not everyday that we see each other... much less talk. So you know, if you're a nice person and you see me after a millenia, you should say something nice. I'm such a nice person pa naman... And I don't like being talked to in that way no. That joke wasn't funny at all for me. My point is, minsan na lang tayo magkikita tapos you'd say something bad about me. She could have offered me a tissue instead or asked if I was okay. Or just plainly commented about how bad the weather is. But to insult my looks, unforgivable. I'll never forget her for what she said to me. It's not like me to carry grudges but I hate what she said. Hmf. Okay enough about her.

Since it was still early, we went to AKKAP tambayan to just to hang out. :) Eiz tried to sleep and I took a pic of her. Hehe. :D

We went to the fourth floor already and before waiting for class, we went to the powder room to freshen up. :) Eiz and I tried the Burst Shots option at my cam. It's like a lomo where you can take 3 consecutive pics. :D Coolio! You can take up to 9 shots... 1 per second. :D Then we tried the black and white effect. Looooove them. :D

*Some pics grabbed from Ethel, Eizel, and Mycel.

Dress-Up Sunday (November 9, 2008)

As always, I kind of dress-up for Mass. :) I know some people would think that I'm just going to church so what's the point of getting dressed up. But you know, if you're going to meet God, you're gonna dress up real good right? :D Besides, the place is holy... treat it with respect. :)

Givenchy Gladiator Bootie

Ever since the Gladiator Shoes trend started Summer 2008, almost every girl was rushing to get herself a pair. As we all know in the Philippines, trends here come a little later. Until now, people are wearing flat gladiator sandals fit for summer. It's not bad at all because as we say "comfort is the key". To match your fascination with everything gladiator, try this:

The Givenchy Gladiator Bootie available for PhP 50,000.00. Okay. I know what you're thinking... "Oh no, not another gladiator." Oh yes. When you're as fabulous as Givenchy you can stand out from the crowd of trendy footwear. For me, gold is the best color because the black looks just so old school. Try something fresh. Try gold. The high heels just look great, don't you think?

So ladies, update your look to match the Fall season. (We have this season in the Philippines too, you know.) Here are some suggestions on how to wear them gladiator booties:

  • wear with a black mini, white t-shirt, and flaunt your beautiful legs
  • wear with leggings/tights
  • this will compliment a feminine mini dress (Try watercolor dresses)
  • this will go well with long tunic top and skinny jeans
Some tips for you:
  • Remember that the shoes call a lot of attention to themselves, so don't try to do too much. Dress around them with basics and neutral colors, otherwise you'll look overly-trended.
  • If you have thick ankles or wide calves, choose a design that is not too chunky and not too dainty.
  • If you want to create the illusion of slimmer legs then match them with the same color opaque tights, to give a lean, fluid look.
  • You're going to look good. So get ready...
Hope I was able to help. :) If you want bolder styles, try Balenciaga the originator of Gladiator Booties.

Bags Every Girl Must Have

These are probably what other people call "It" bags, meaning bags that make thousands of bag hags fall in line just to get wait-listed trying to get to the oh-my-i-wanna-have-that bag. So here are the to-die-for bags (my personal favorites), which in my opinion, every GIRL should have.

Balenciaga Motorcycle Bag

Balenciaga actually uses naturally distressed goat leather that gives the bags the slouchy, unique and ultra chic look that everyone loves and adores. Though the Motorcycle Bag has been out for a while and is no longer the ultra “it” bag it once was, the Motorcycle Bag is still one of those bags that will be stylish for seasons to come. Who can resist that black leather, gold hardware, and little side buckles? Besides, this bag has lots of colors available aside from the ones posted above. It is avalailable in every color from hot metallic pink to red, black and white, the size range is also astounding with small clutch and purse versions to giant travel sized bags.I love its version in Pewter, which is a highly limited version and indefinitely unattainable.

Personally, I'd go for this one because of it's edgy appearance and it's over-sized. I love over-sized bags... A good addition to any understated outfit. Agree? But it’s best feature is that the Italian distressed leather gets better with age, so you can use it everyday and will look great for years to come.

So how much does it really cost? I asked around and here are the prices for each size: the small size sells for around PhP 47,700.00 (Classique or Small), the medium sells for around PhP 57,300.00 (City or Medium) and the large sells for around PhP 61,100.00 (Work/Office or Large). Not bad for something you could use for a lifetime.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Speedy

A classic. I think it's one of the most classic and easily recognizable LV bag. Speedy is a reinterpretation of the keepall travel bag. It has an exceptionally spacious interior. Perfect for girls like me who brings her closet with her everyday. ^___^ What I love about this is that due to its being monogrammed, it stays a classic. You can wear it forever and it matches most (if not all) outfits. It's also sturdy and it does not easily get dirty. If you have a problem with it being slouchy, you can buy a base shaper from ebay. Here's another picture of the Speedy 30:

Compared to the Keepall 55 with shoulder strap bag, which costs around PhP 60,900.00, the Speedy 30 costs only PhP 33,600.00. :D Cool, huh? Those are US prices. I don't know how much they're selling here in the Philippines. I saw some stores selling the Speedy for a whopping PhP75,000.00. So if I were you, ask your relatives in the USA to get you one, if you haven't got one yet.

Chanel 2.55

Now this one is love. I'm gonna give you a bit of a history about it. One cannot say that this is a typical Chanel handbag. Earth to you, it's what I call an icon. Coco Chanel designed this bag for herself and introduced this bag in February 1955 (thus, the name 2.55). When it was first brought out the Chanel 2.55 caused a stir amoungst the upmarket fashion lovers because it was one of the first to have a strap. Coco recognised that women on the go needed to have their hands free to hold glasses of champagne, eat canapes, read theatre programmes etc so the chain strap was added to make the bag easy to carry on the shoulder.

Here's some story about Coco's childhood I've read on FemaleFirst. Just read on and fall in love with Chanel 2.55. :D

Gabrielle Bonheur “Coco” Chanel was born the daughter of a doctor and a lawyer, Brigitte and Johan Chanel. She developed an interest in fashion from a very young age after her mother took various tailors and showed her around the land of clothing and needles. However her mother was killed in a bizarre boating accident, leaving Johan to take care of Coco and her brother, Lawrence on his own.

Johan couldn't get over the death of his wife and committed suicide six months later leaving Coco to the care of an orphanage. Following the tragic death of both her parents Coco became sad and withdrawn and in fact she didn't speak at all from her father's death until she was six. Her only comfort was the sketches she loved to do.

Coco's time in the orphanage had a big impact on her life and influenced her future designs. The double chain design of the shoulder strap strap was inspired by her memories of the childrens’ caretakers in the orphanage who would dangle keys from their waists.

The brown/red color on the inside of the 2.55 bag in fact represents the color of the uniforms Coco and the rest of the children had to wear in the orphanage.

It wasn't only Coco's childhood that went into her designing. The 2.55 also has an secret compartment in the inside of the front flap and this is rumored to be where Coco would keep her love letters during an affair she had with Nazi spy, Hans Gunther von Dincklage.

Another secret pocket is featured in the outside flap at the back of the bag. This is where Coco would keep a little bit of extra money she wanted to stash away.

The quilted material from which the bag was made was based on the coats worn by jockeys. It was believed that Coco was fascinated by horse racing and wanted to pay tribute to that in the very personal design of the 2.55 bag.

Coco chose to close all her shops during the Second World War and took up residence in the Hotel Ritz in Paris throughout the fighting. It's rumoured that it was her relationship with Von Dicklage that allowed her to remain there.

When the war was over Coco and the Chanel brand struggled to make a come back in the fashion industry--mostly due to her romance with the Nazi but she continued to live in the Ritz for 30 years until she died in her private suite on January 10, 1971, at 87 years old.

Since Coco's original design there have been many variations of the original design 2.55, including different color leather/fabric, changes to the chain - metal vs. interwoven leather - and the fasten - mademoiselle vs. interlocking CC.

In 2005 Karl Lagerfeld revived the 2.55 design exactly as Coco had made it for it's 50th anniversary and the new Reissue was even more popular than the original release.

Although Chanel 2.55 may just look like another designer bag each aspect of it's design contains a little part of the fashion icon that was Coco Chanel--therefore making it a true icon of fashion itself.

This classic is being reissued for this season in white, black and silver, which we love the most. For the collectors out there, this is a must. Here's what the reissues look like:

I could probably write a novel about Chanel 2.55, its history, variations through time, etc. There are just so many things to say!!! :D

For myself, I'd get the Chanel 2.55 in black with gold hardware, since it looks for elegant. I can use it anywhere, even on gimik nights. For the material, I'd go for lambskin. The Chanel 2.55 typically comes in calf leather (Caviar) and lambskin. The Caviar is definitely less prone to scratches and lower maintenance than the Lambskin but but but the lambskin has such a nice and soft touch. :D The Chanel 2.55 shoulder strap typically features a double metal chain interwoven with leather. For size, I'd go for Medium. The medium classic flap bag by the measurement of 10" x 6" x 3" is the most popular size. The small 2.55 (9" x 5.5" x 2.5") will probably suit my petite frame more but you can hardly fit anything in it, especially after a checkbook wallet. The large/jumbo (12" x 8" x 3.5") will simply be too overwhelming on me and I don't fancy the shape as much. Having said all that, one just has to go into the boutique in person and try out the different sizes to really tell what looks best on you. So there, that's what I want for my first Chanel 2.55. My grandmother has one... and I'm afraid to borrow it. Haha!

So how much does it cost? Just a little over PhP 100,000.00. Expensive much?

Hermès Birkin Bag

The Hermès Birkin, is the Holy Grail of purses. It is one of the doyen of all handbags, right up there with the Hermès Kelly bag, Birkin's sister.

The Hermes Birkin bag is an exclusive product that not only costs as much as PhP 770,000.00 a bag, but a special edition of which can see people lining up on the waiting list for as much as six to ten years.

FYI, Victoria Beckham owns a mind blowing 100 or so Hermes bags (over $2 million dollars worth, according to Purseblog.com) and proudly pairs them with her A-list designer outfits. Top of the list is her 10 Birkins, including her Hermès Ostrich, Crocodile, Rouge, White and Black Clemence Hermès Birkins, to name but a few. Posh Spice (as what I like to call her since I'm a Spice Girls fan) is certainly not alone in her hankering for Hermès, as the designer label's extensive waiting list of high profile names lays testament to.

So what's with Birkin?

Quite what it is that causes women to go bonkers over a Birkin, remains somewhat of a mystery. The bag’s practical size (standard size is 35cm), or tough but classic lines, or simply be what the bag represents. Owning a Birkin tells the world “Look-at-me, I’ve made it big.” It’s the ultimate elite status symbol, as Hermès is one of the world's top handbag brands, with its famous Birkin and Kelly.

With the price tag of a Birkin starting around PhP 340,000.00, only the rich (and famous?) can afford to carry one on their arm. Even the wealthiest women must wait for an exquisitely stitched Hermès Birkin bag, so to own one screams exclusivity. Prices of the standard 35cm Birkin range from around PhP 340,000.00 - PhP 770,000.00, depending on the leather or exotic skin, with a price tag far higher for a special edition.

Hermes has stores all over the world but its hallowed HQ can be founding Paris. Its Paris workrooms produce only five Birkins per week, which explains the long waiting lists!

Now, let's move on to the history of the most coveted Birkin Bag.

Named after chanteuse Jane Birkin, the inception of the Birkin, in 1984, is the stuff legends are made of, as the truth is still shrouded in myth. According to author Stephanie Pendersen, in her book, Handbags, What Every Woman Should Know, the bag’s idea first came from a plane trip Birkin took, when she found herself sitting next to Hermès president Jean-Louis Dumas. Conflicting reports say she was carrying a Hermès Kelly at the time, or a straw bag; and complained to Dumas that the bag’s opening was difficult to get into. Pendersen also claims that some reports have songstress, Birkin being asked by Hermès to draw her dream bag, and then charged her $5,000 for the finished product! Whatever the truth, Jane Birkin admits to owning only one of her namesakes. Ironically, in 2006 she announced she was retiring her Birkin as “ I love my Birkin bag, but I lug so much stuff around in it I believe it is part of the reason I have tendonitis.”

Quite a history huh? :) The Birkin is crafted entirely by hand by a single artisan from start to finish, and embellished with a petite padlock, keys and gleaming hardware made of white or yellow gold.

I won't probably get to own an original of this... unless I have a clone of Bill Gate's money in my bank account. :D If that's the case, I'd get a black, a tan, a red, a blue, a yellow, and a pink one. :D Never mind the limited diamond edition. I don't care much for it. Just give me one and I'd die peacefully!

Hermès Kelly Bag

Women the world over love the classic lines of a Hermès Kelly bag. Named after Grace Kelly, Princess Grace of Monaco, the Kelly is one of the greatest bags of our time.

Paper or Plastic? People would say paper. But Kelly or Birkin? That is a far more serious matter, and not just because it involves three or four zeroes. Choosing between these two iconic bags is far more complicated.

While both styles exude money (old, new, discreet, flashy), each signals to the world, or at least to an international pack of fashion hounds, a very different aesthetic and vibe.

"The Kelly is a touch more formal, a little more appropriate for an evening out, a business dinner, as a more refined look. The Birkin is more sporty, more casual. Often people use it as a briefcase, throw in a change of shoes," says Trina Sams-Manning, manager of the Hermes shop in Fairfax Square, which recently reopened after a major facelift.

Inga Guen, who sells gently used Kellys and Birkins at Inga's Once Is Not Enough, a high-end consignment shop in Northwest Washington, is even more emphatic about the difference. "A woman who is going to wear the Kelly is of very erect stature, she comes from money, very good background, is extraordinarily educated, and life to her is one where she will be very inconspicuous," says Guen, an avid Kelly carrier. She cuts a bit of slack for the Birkin femme, who "wears Manolo mules, a pair of jeans, a little Chanel jacket. She is the younger woman."

For the uninitiated, these bags, which start at about PhP 340,000.00 and can top PhP 1,200,000.00 depending on hide and hue.

Philadelphia-born Grace Kelly -- so blonde, so patrician -- had been wed less than a year to Prince Rainier of Monaco when she deftly obscured her royal pregnancy with a structured, crocodile Hermes purse on a 1956 Life magazine cover. Created in 1892 as a large saddle carrier -- the French fashion house started out as a saddlemaker -- the bag was downsized for daywear in the 1930s. But after its moment in Life, it was dedicated to Her Serene Highness, and, as legends often do, lives on after her.

Kelly bags come in 5 different sizes and are usually made from crocodile, alligator, ostrich-skin or plain leather. According to Miller’s guide, they are identifiable by their distinctive metal-tipped clasp, which can be closed with a tiny padlock. Swathed in leather, the clasp's hidden key often dangles from the handle.

How is a Kelly bag made?

In Anna Johnson’s Handbags, The Power of the Purse, Johnson points out that a 1956 Hermès Alligator Bag took 2 alligators to make a Kelly, with the exotic skin culled from the reptiles’ jowls and the belly.

Johnson details the finer points of the making of a Kelly bag; the fact that it takes a single craftsman around 18 hours to produce one of these beauties.

Once the hand-cut skins (selected by personal customer order) have arrived, they are laid out, resembling a mini-dress and the lining or the bag is hand-sewn in. The base of the bag is then created, using waxed linen thread and a tough double-saddle stitch, where perforations are painstakingly made into the leather. The following step is the creation of the handle and then the front flap is stitched and added to the body of the bag. The clasp and the four feet at the base of the Kelly are then fitted and the famous padlock added.

The inside of a Kelly bag is as beautifully and as painstakingly made as the outside,, an honored tenet of Hermès, according to Pendersen. The bags seams are smoothed, dyed and waxed.

Interestingly, the penultimate finishing touch involves the Kelly being ironed, to get the wrinkles out the skin. The very last touch is to christen the bag with the famous Hermès Paris logo, and another Kelly bag is born.

So, that's my top 5 bags every girl must have. :D Coming right next to them are the Fendi Baguette and the Gucci Indy It-bag (which I don't much like since it's so boho). Anyway, I got so tired blogging about these bags. Mind you, I researched very well on this... But it's so worth it. I love writing about things like these. :) Next time, you'll read about shoes every girl must have. :D

Ang pagpapatawa is a serious business.

I was reading this book Pinoy Jokes and I realized that Filipinos do have quite a sense of humor. :)

Here are some of my favorites:

Utang
Mike: Pare, pautang naman ng P200!
Peter: Pare, P100 lang ang dala ko.
Mike: Ah, sige, isandaan lang muna. Basta ha, may utang ka pa sa akin na P100.

The Tale of the Scientists
A biologist, a physicist, and a chemist went to the beach for the first time. They were all amazed.
Physicist: I wonder how much force the waves of the ocean can produce?
Suddenly, the physicist dived into the water to find out. But he never returned.
Biologist: Behold! The ocean must possess so many life forms below!
Thus, the biologist dived into the water to investigate. He, too, never returned.
Then, the Chemist took his pen and paper and wrote down, "The Physicist and the Biologist are both soluble in water."

:D That's all for now! Hope I made you laugh (or smile)! :D

A little something about love...

If you really love a person...

You shouldn't count his or her mistakes.
You shouldn't ask for anything in return.
You shouldn't count the things you have done for that person.
If you do count, you'll never get to be happy.

When a guy isn't sweet, that doesn't mean he doesn't love you, nor  is it an indication that he doesn't care. We shouldn't complain that the person we love isn't sweet or isn't showy. We shouldn't count the things he do for us. We should enjoy each and every moment. If we want him to be sweet and showy, we should GIVE him the reason to do that. Isn't that right?

We are expected of only 1 thing when we are in love.

And that is..

To give it our best shot.

I love beautiful things!

While some people PURELY devote their online niche to blogs about politics, education, issues, etc....

I'm going to devote my blog to beautiful things in life! :D Well, of course, this is a biased thingamajig because this is my blog... this is my perception of what's beautiful. :)

Life is short. Why waste time focusing on the sad realities of life, right? I've always been an optimist... So, come, join me... Let's look at the brighter side of life. :)

There are so many sad people in the world. And only a few percent is really really happy. So yeah, point is, let's spread the love. Let's just all be happy. :)

I want to be R-I-C-H!

As in super duper mega rich.

Before, I want to be famous. I wanted to be a star. An actress. Or whatever it takes just to be famous.

But now, I just to be rich. After all, who needs fame when you have all the money in the world?

Agree? :)

So come on, make me rich! ^___^

Enchanted Kingdom

Would you believe I've never been there?

When my family went there, I was in school. When I finally have the chance, I was still recuperating from a previous illness. And when there are plans to go there with friends, they're always what I call wishful thinking.

Anyway, it's like I've been there na rin with all the souvenirs I got and the map and the pictures... Probably I've been there, but I just forgot due to my sickness-related short-term amnesia. But no. I don't think I've really been there. Hehe.

Somebody, take me there!

I'm supposed to go to EK today... with Mycel. :) Team building of their organization and she invited me early this week. Too bad it was canceled. :( At least we're having an ice cream fest again. :D I miss Mycel. She's one of my favorite friends. :) I'd do anything for her much as I'd do anything for my superfriends and Norman. (Okay... getting mushy here.)

Since the trip to EK was canceled, I just uploaded new stuff to my online store. :) And then, I cleaned our very pink bedroom from top to bottom. Hehe. :D It's nice... I wanna sleep now. :P

My Shrine of Accessories

I've just arranged my accessories... as in I've separated the bracelets from the earrings from the necklaces from the headbands. :) I'm so happy. Hehe. We're holding a garage sale this Sunday ata. Sana may mabenta sa mga old bags ko! :)

Anyway, ang location nitong table na to ay sa isang corner sa aming pink girls' bedroom. :D At ito ang aming bagong shrine! :D

Getting Ready for School (Part 1)

I've already started getting ready to go back to school. It just shows how excited I am. Haha!

I'm taking 17 units right now. My schedule is gonna kill me, btw. But I have no choice. Those are the only sections available. I don't want to request a change in schedule... kahiya eh. :P Besides, kakayanin ko to! :D

Every day of the week, I'm going to be wearing my white school uniform with matching fab nameplate and icky white shoes. Hehe. I'm still thinking if I'd be buying new white shoes. :) Coz I want one that I can wear for lecture classes. And one that I'll be wearing during laboratory classes. :D I already saw one at the mall, but it's kinda expensive. :P

I already cut my nails short. Boo! This is my hatest part... coz my nails are really really short. As in. The nails on my thumb are just half an inch long. Don't ask about the other nails. Haha. But we're required to have uber short nails (as in sagad) for our Microbiology laboratory class. I can't wear nail polish too. Another major boo-boo. :(

The happy part though is shopping!!! :D

I bought 2 new bags that I could use for school. :) One casual... and one really chic. :D I also bought a headband and a blush-on. Hehe. :D Yippee!!!

Next week, I'll be buying really school related stuff like notebooks, pens, etc. etc. :D I can't wait for the BDJ 2009 Power Planner. :D Even though I'm going to use it next year pa. :D Teehee! Gotta go now. :P

Walking Marathon

I had a walking marathon today.

Hehe. Just kidding. :P

What I did today was really something ordinary... with a touch of something special. I toured 2 malls with a friend. Ordinary in a sense that I'm always at the mall (well, apart from school of course). Special in a sense that he's a nice friend visiting Manila. :)

Wilmar is Norman's cousin. Later on, I learned that Norman is actually Wilmar's nephew already. Hehe. You know how the family tree is in the Philippines. :P Anyway, Wilmar is here in Manila to undergo training at Meralco Foundation Inc. (MFI) in Ortigas. So he invited me out to lunch. We met at SM Megamall and had lunch at Pizza Hut and ate my favorite meal! :D Super yummy super busog super sulit. Then, chika chika for a while. Kwento this kwento that. Taught him how to commute and get around Metro Manila. Hehe. Like the difference between MRT, which is running along EDSA, and LRT, which is running along Taft Ave. :P Actually, what I did the whole day was reminiscent of the days I spent with Kate when she came to Manila too! :D

After having lunch, we took the bus to SM Mall of Asia and showed him the "biggest" mall in Asia. :D It's really big... Hehe. Toured the whole lot in a few hours actually. Then when it's time to go coz it's getting dark, we had Choco Fudge Sundae at McDo. Yippee! :)

Then ayon. Went home na. :) Kapagod but really fun!

Nagulat pa ko kanina kasi pagbaba ko ng jeep sa labas ng village namin... May biglang van na tumigil sa harap ko. Parang kidnap scene lang. Haha. Pagtingin ko sa driver's seat... si VR my long lost friend. Haha. Makikipagchikahan sana ako kung wala lang sa aking nagiintay. Nakasabay ko rin kasi sa jeep to our village ang isa kong kapitbahay (katabing bahay sila). So syempre, sabay na kami dapat papasok ng village. So... bye VR. Till next time. Pagsakay ng jeep papasok ng village, andun si kapitbahay no. 2. Yey. Nalibre ako sa pamasahe... kasi mommies na sila eh. Hehe. Student pa lang ako. :D

Tomorrow is battle day.

Enrolment in College of Pharmacy plus several business meetings equals nonstop walking. Haha. Sana naman sa kakalakad ko eh pumayat na ko.

Ay... may unforgettable remark akong narinig today: I look slimmer daw in person. Yeees! :D

P.S. I'm so annoyed at mom. She's always in a bad mood and she always talk like she's angry. Oh well... what's new? Where is the love in the world? :(

POSER.

I hate posers.

You know who you are. I hate hate hate people pretending to be someone they're not.

I hate identity thieves.

You should get a life! You're crazy, demented, deranged... whatever. There are so many words to describe people like you. But one word fits all: PATHETIC.

Get a life, girl.

Study Hard. Party Harder.

I got that comment from someone I met last night. Haha. He's from UP Diliman taking up Marine Biology. It's funny coz he showed me his ID to prove his identity. Lolz. I didn't show mine though. He was inviting me to the party again next week, and I declined. Sheesh. I already got school, I said. And he said, "Study hard. Party harder." I can't remember his name though. I just know him as Joker coz he came dressed as Joker. Anyway, I just can't imagine someone from UP Diliman partying 3x a week, just like what he's doing. Haha!

Anyway, the party last night at Club Jaipur was uber fun! We were up and dancing from 10pm to 3am. It was so fun coz we got lots of friends there. I mean, my brother's friends. The Japanese girls were sooo cute. I remember their names as Mari, Kiara, Megumi, Ichi and Erika. Then there was also Jannessa and her sister (who lost her iPhone. Boo!) and her cousin, perhaps. Then there was a couple there whose names I forgot. Then there was Mico, our neighbor. Dennis and Celmer, Mikey's friends. Then there was this cute guy. I think his name was JayR. Or whatever that sounded like that. Really, I'm so terrible with names... :(

I hope I'd see them again. :) Thanks for making my first ever night gimik this year a blast! :)
