My Chemical Romance - Im Not Okay (I Promise)

Chicken Macaroni Salad (Pinoy Style)

Description:
This is one of my favorite salads! :D Apart from fruit salad, of course. I love making this salad especially during the holidays... :) Enjoy this recipe!

Ingredients:
1/5 kilo macaroni noodles
2 to 3 pieces, medium sized carrots
1 big chicken breast
500 ml of mayonnaise (for best results, use Lady's Choice Mayonnaise)
1 can (836 g) pineapple chunks or tidbits (preferably, Del Monte)
1 big white onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup sweet pickle relish
3 hardboiled eggs, diced
1 cup diced cheddar cheese
1/2 cup raisins
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Cook macaroni noodles according to package cooking instructions.

In a pot, boil carrots in water for 15 to 20 minutes or until cooked. Drain carrots and let cool. Peal skin then dice. Boil chicken breast in water with salt. Drain chicken breast, then shred in 1 inch lengths. Drain pineapple chunks or tidbits. Combine all ingredients while adding salt and pepper, to taste.

Refrigerate, then serve.

Halo-Halo

Description:
Halo-halo is a popular Filipino dessert that is a mixture of shaved ice and milk to which are added various boiled sweet beans and fruits, and served cold in a tall glass or bowl.

There is no specific recipe for this dessert, and a wide variety of ingredients are used. The order in which the ingredients are added varies widely. Primary ingredients generally include boiled red mungo beans, kidney beans, garbanzos, kaong, macapuno, and plantains caramelized in sugar. Other components may include jackfruit (langka), star apple, tapioca or sago, nata de coco, purple yam (ube) or sweet potato (kamote), sweetened corn kernels or pounded crushed young rice (pinipig), leche flan or custard, ice cream and gelatin. Other fruits, such as papayas, avocados, kiwifruit, bananas or cherries, may also be added. Some preparations also include ice cream on top of the halo-halo.

Generally, condensed milk or evaporated milk is used instead of fresh milk, due to the tropical climate of the Philippines.

In terms of arrangement, most of the ingredients (fruits, beans, and other sweets) are first placed inside the tall glass, followed by the shaved ice. This is then sprinkled with sugar, and topped with either (or a combination of) leche flan, ube halaya, or ice cream. Condensed milk is poured into the mixture upon serving.

Ingredients:
4 cups Ice shavings
4 tbsps Sweet Azuki beans
4 tbsps Macapuno
4 tbsps Diced Preserved jackfruit
4 tbsps Preserved sugar palm
4 tbsps Diced Mango
4 tbsps Diced Kiwi
4 tbsps Diced Strawberry
12 tbsps Whipping cream
Condensed Milk

Directions:
Fill four glasses with the ice shavings, then lay the ingredients on top, adding 3 tbsps of whipping cream over each serving. Add condensed milk to taste.

Okay, this is totally unbelievable!

Our final exam in Chem 150 was supposed to be this today (March 31) at 4-6 pm. However, our teacher moved it to 5:30 or 6:30 pm onwards. So we stayed at school first to "study". Truth is, we actually spent more time chatting than studying. :P

Thankfully, our teacher was not able to finish making the exam... He wasn't able to finish checking our previous exams as well so our class standing was still "unknown". Before we left school, we had the final schedule for the final exam. It will be tomorrow (April 1) 9 am.

It was already nearing dinner time anyway so we went to Robinson's Place to accompany our friend Julie in her shopping rendezvous. :) We got home around 10 pm already and I was about to start studying when...

Lo and behold.

Just a few minutes ago, Louie sent a text message saying that the exam was moved, again, to wednesday 9 am.

I don't know what to make of that.

Of course I am very thankful because that means more time to study. If I still could manage to study while we're shooting for and editing our video presentation for Ph Ch 35.

Hmmm... what else can I do anyway?

I just hope that our teacher would let us all pass this subject. After all the sacrifices we made... Of course it was hard on our teacher as well. But it was harder for us. Mind you. The exams are really terribly hard. :( Only 3 were exempted from taking the finals! That's how hard the subject is!

Oh well... do pray that we all survive this semester! :) Thanks!

A Legendary Batch

We were only 12...

and we all survived!

First, congratuations to us! :D We survived! Hehe. Sabi nga ni Randy, ang galing daw namin kasi turning point daw ang Ph Ch 35 sa buhay ng mga taga-pharmacy. Meaning, maraming nadedelay din dahil dito. Syempre, ibang usapan ang Organic Series na Ph Ch 25, 26, at 27. Sabi nga rin ni Revs, "Moe, legendary ang klase ntn! First time ever ever ever na nangyari to in all remembered history!!!Ü"

*sigh* At least makakahinga na kami ng maluwag... We're all moving on to Ph Ch 36! Sana tuloy-tuloy na hanggang 37! :D Napakasaya talaga naming lahat... Tapos, may free lunch pa kami! :D It will be my first time to be treated out to lunch by a female teacher. ;)

Syempre, excited din kaming panoorin yung video na gagawin namin...

Ganito kasi yon, parang special project namin na gumawa ng isang instructional video para sa laboratory class ng Ph Ch 135. For posterity's sake. It will be shown every first day of laboratory course. In our college kasi, every first meeting of laboratory class is allotted to Orientation and Checking-In of Lockers. So our video will be shown to the next Ph Ch 35 classes on that first meeting! :D It contains the necessary laboratory techniques like basic assay procedures, important steps, etc. We still haven't started shooting for the video but we'll manage to finish it on time. :D

Yun lang muna for now... mag-aaral pa ko sa finals ko bukas. May Ph Ch 126 at 126.1 pa ko. Haay. Actually, I'm quite frustrated because I know that I could have been exempted from taking the finals. My scores weren't that low. They were passing. Just enough, actually. If I actually took the subjects more seriously, like intensely studying for the exams, I know that I really could have done better. And now it's too late. Pwede pa sana ako maexempt from taking the finals... Haay. Nasa huli talaga ang pagsisisi. Nakakainis! :(

Yesterday, I went to a studio to have my picture taken. I need ID pictures for some applications... So there, I wore my favorite purple Lacoste polo shirt, just like in the ID photo that was last year. After the new photos were processed, I was shocked. I looked different. So I had a few realizations. (The following realizations are a result of plain vanity. *peace!*)

I look better if...

- my face was fuller. With the new pictures, it's quite evident that stress has sallowed my face.
- my eyes were big and brown. ^__^
- I have bangs.

Yun lang naman yung differences... hehe.

One more thing... I'm happy too that my mom stopped nagging me everyday on when I'd get thinner. A few days ago, she just told me that I got thinner already. (In my opinion, I haven't quite got thinner. I'm still a 100+ lbs. My target weight is around 92 lbs.) But at least she won't ask me every morning now regarding my weight. :D

And, because I love saving the best for the last, I would like to thank God for being so wonderful! He really grants our heart's desires... Come to think of it, He really answers all our prayers, at the right time. :D Praise God for He is good!

May maeexempt pa pala ako na major subject sa Pharm! :D Sobrang saya ko... I was exempted from taking the finals in both the Lecture and Laboratory part of Pharm Chem 35. :D Thank God! Bawas sa mga exams... So Ph Ch 126, Ph Ch 126.1, and Chem 150 na lang ang iisipin ko. 4 more exams to go!

Kaya ayon, pagkatapos ng linggong ito... baliw na ako.

Kanina kasi nagaaral pa ako for Ph Ch 35 finals. Kala ko kasi talaga magfifinals ako dun. Buti sumabit yung grade ko. :D Eh may option naman kami na magtake pa rin. Pero bakit pa ako magtake diba? Matutulog na lang ako ngayon. Tapos bukas, magaaral na ko para sa Ph Ch 126 at 126.1 finals. Mahirap to... Organic Chemistry kasi. I'm not so good in Organic Chemistry. Di ko kasi talaga magets yung mga tumatalon-talon na electrons. Although kahit papano, mas marami na kong alam ngayon tungkol sa reaction mechanism. :)

Ayon, buti na lang di ako masyado nagaral para sa exam bukas. :P Inasikaso ko rin kasi yung mga UP Shirts na binebenta ko. At inasikaso ko rin ang mga requirements para sa summer internship sa Mercury Drug Store.

Ang plano ko talaga, pupunta ko sa Head Office nila, located in Libis, after lunch. Kaya lang, yung X-Ray results ay makukuha ng 1:30 pm. And then kailangan pa kasi ng Medical Certificate. Eh 2pm pa dadating yung doctor.

So ayon... nagpalipas muna ko ng oras. Nagpapicture. Nangolekta ng bayad. Nagbenta. Kumuha ng orders. Kumain sa Chowking kasama si Eiz at Steph. Bumili ng buko shake. Tinawanan naman si Eiz kasi naman... :P Tapos nagpunta na ko dun sa clinic.

Lo and behold! May suspicious density sa upper part ng left lung ko. So they suggested that I undergo under X-Ray but in the lordotic view.

Pag sinabing may suspicious density, dalawa lang ibig sabihin talaga nun. Una, may pneumonia ako. Pangalawa, may tuberculosis ako. Kasi ang mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacteria that causes TB, mas gusto nila magstay dun sa upper part of the lungs. So ang mga may TB, may lumalabas na something white dun sa upper part of the lungs. Eh dapat kasi black yun para masabi na clear and healthy.

Anyway, so nagpaXRAY ulit ako. Sobrang kinakabahan talaga ako. Ayoko pang mamatay! :( Buti na lang supportive mga friends ko... They were texting me while I was anxiously waiting for the results.

Tapos nakakainis pa kasi parang niloloko pa ko nung attendant dun. Haha! As in ang daming inasikaso bago ako... She was prolonging my agony.

After more than an hour of waiting, ready na yung results! Woo. Kabado akong lumapit sa kanya at binasa ang papel. NORMAL FINDINGS. Yeah! :D I wanted to hug her... but I just thanked her profusely.

Me: "OMG. Oh my God. I'm sooo happy. Thank you sooo much!"

Attendant: "Kinabahan ka no?"

Me: "Yeah. Kala ko kung ano na."

Eh sino ba namang hindi kakabahan? Baka hindi ako makaenroll sa UP! :(

Buti na lang at artifactual lang yung suspicious density dun sa 1st X-Ray plate. :D It means na shadow lang sya. Nothing to worry about.

I'm finding it really hard to breathe. It's like someone has a strong grip around my neck. My chest is so heavy. I really can't breathe well.

Last night, I had a chat with a dear friend. She's actually the current girlfriend, and hopefully soon-to-be fiancee, of an ex-boyfriend. What started out as simple kamustahan turned out into a heart-to-heart talk.

She turned to me for help because she knows how very well I know the guy's personality. We started sharing our problems, experiences, and insights. Of course, my past relationship with him was brought up. Mind you, that relationship was very nerve-wracking, and totally heart-breaking for me. After our break-up, I had a hard time concentrating on everything. I couldn't eat well. I couldn't sleep well. My physiological and psychological balance was disturbed.

I thought it would be just a few days until I get over the heartbreak. But the emotional and physical pain that the relationship left with me took more than just a few days to heal. It took me months. Heck, even years just to get over it.

And then last night, while we were talking, I realized that again, he betrayed my trust.

I never thought that after all the good things I've done for him, he will talk about me in such a negative way. Of course I was not privy to the actual statements that were used to describe me. However, because I know his personality, and also because I know how he speaks about his ex-girlfriends, I expect the worst.

Damn. Knowing that  made me really cry last night. I would not want him to talk about me that way. I never uttered a bad word about him... Yes, even after all the bad things that he did. I always talk about his being a good person -- sweet, kind, generous, etc.

But he talks about his past relationships like he has no respect left for the ladies.

*sigh*

I never expected that he would talk about me in a compromised manner.

I hope he realizes how deeply hurt I am. I hope he'll change for the better.

It's not yet too late, anyway.

Starting A New Life

I've decided to move my blog from Tabulas to Multiply. :)

Yes, I'll be blogging here... maybe forever.

But I won't be deleting my Tabulas blog simply because it has been a very big part of my life... I've written a lot of things there. 403 entries, by the way. Plus, through Tabulas, I've gained a handful of friends. So you understand why I really hate to part with it... But I have to. To start a new life. To get a hold of myself. To be who I want to be.
