My Phones

Let's take a look back at all the phones I had...

Bosch (Forgot the model) - I got this when I was in Grade 6 until 1st year high school. It eventually got extinct and chose to die instead.

Nokia 3330 - 2nd year high school to 3rd year high school. Someone snatched it from my skirt pocket... while I was inside a jeep. When I lost this, I really cried because I just got it for months. And it's Globelines!!! Well, that was a good thing because we had the line cut and the phone blocked.

Nokia 6210 - 3rd year to 4th year high school. I still have it until now! :) But this is with my mom now since bought me a new one then. And its...

Nokia 7250i - 4th year high school only. Before entering 1st year high school, it got snatched inside G-Unit Net Cafe. Someone asked me to print something on a diskette and I just placed the phone beside my hand. When I looked down, it was still there. And when I looked up, it was gone! And so was the guy! Damn!

Nokia 6210 - Back to my old phone then... My mom had her own phone then too. I used it during my 1st year in college. When my line got cut because of unpaid bills, I stopped using a phone. Until I got a...

Nokia 3315 - I used it year 2005 then it was stolen together with my mom's phone! So we had no phones that time. My mom switched back to the N6210 and I used nothing.

Nokia 3210 - I've used this 2005 to 2006 until now...

Sony Ericsson (i forgot the model) - Just had it now. And my Nokia 3210 goes to Mariah! :) Thank you Tito Raff for this new phone! I love you!

Now we both have phones! :) I won't lose this one now. I promise this to myself. It's just to prove to myself and to my family that I'm not that careless when it comes to phones. ^__^

Like A Geisha

It's amazing.

Remember how, in the movie "Memoirs of a Geisha," Sayuri and Mameha were able to stop a man in his tracks with just one look? I guess I could be a living proof that not ONLY geishas could do it. Even ordinary people like me CAN.

And it's fun! My friends and I were tripping early today. They have this video cam and we were kind of shooting. Then they dared me to that geisha look. And it worked 5 times on different men. Usually on UP college students. Afterwards, we were all laughing like hyenas. We also created an ala-"The Divine Secrets of the Ya-ya Sisterhood" type of film.

After the laughtrip, we deleted the videos. It was crap, so to say. Just plain girlish hulabaloos.

Btw, I wanna try the eat-all-you-can siomai at D&D (Dimsum and Dumplings) next week. But would I be up to that challenge? I'll prolly bring along a guy friend to eat out with me. Too bad that John can't go. :( Ivan offered to go with me anyway, since he was the one to tell me about me. Maybe, someday, I'll try out his invitation.

God, I sound like Carrie Bradshaw talking. Excuse me, I'm not all that. But then, though I'm not craving for her men-ish lifestyle... I'm craving for her closet! Dammit! hahaha! Those Jimmy Choos and Manolo Blahniks would just make my eyes start googling and would make me drool. Maybe I'll ask my Ninong to give me one for my Birthday this year. Hopefully... :D If only it doesn't cost around 500,000 pesos, I'd buy lotsa pairs. Not only do they look good on the feet, they make me look tall too. Just what I need! For the meantime, VNC and Nine West would do. :)

Moving on, life in UP is so hard. You'd notice that a lot of people are dressed down. UP is sooo unlike Ateneo, La Salle, and UA&P wherein you have to dress like the models in the latest fashion mag. (Yes, there are exceptions.) In UP, I dress up really simply. If I'm not wearing my uniform, I'd probably go with a simple body fit tank top/shirt/spaghetti strap/polo, jeans/capris/skirt, paired with flipflops/sandals. Then I'd just accessorize. Dun ako bumabawi. :D Plus, wearing flats/flipflops is really an advantage since we have to run in between classes for like half a mile or so. That's how far buildings are from one another. We have this huge PGH separating the world of Pharmacy to the world of Arts and Sciences. Until my 3rd year, I'd still be running to and fro those worlds.

You'd notice in UP that the students are wearing mostly what we would call pambahay. Gahd. Even guys just wear shirts, jeans, flipflops, and body bags. Most of them have shades. The sun is out so it's justifiable.

One gossip, a couple was caught "doing it" in our schoolpaper office. The girl is a UP student and the guy is not. Gahd. Are couples that desperate as to make do with our shitty office? Mismatched green and pink walls would never qualify as an aphrodisiac for me. Plus the MESS. Papers scattered everywhere. and a dirty couch. Maybe it's the couch that attracted them. I just hope that they were bit by the bedbugs.

Evil laugh.

Family Reunion 2006

We had a family reunion last March 5.

Dumating kasi si Tito Raff from the states. He's my grandmother's brother. In short, Lolo ko na sya. But we never called him Lolo. Tita Wilma, his wife, works at the IMF. Yep, International Monetary Fund. Hehehe. Never ko ginawa yon. Bat naman diba?!

Anyway, since 10 days lang dito si Tito Raff and it's been a while since we had a reunion... he decided to host one. Dati kasi, don kami sa condo nila sa Easton Place. This time, may nagrerent na kasi don kaya sa ibang place. We were supposed to eat somewhere nice... Pero puno lahat! Darn... nakalimutan magpareserve. so ayon... ilang generations din kaming lahat. 25 ata kami lahat eh. Di na nakapunta yong iba kasi nasa malayong lugar at ibang bansa. Well, masaya naman. Videocams and cameras were brought. Sira yong car namin so car ni Mommy (Lola) yong ginamit. Eh 9 kami so hindi kasya. Mommy, Mikey, and I rode a taxi instead. Hanep. First time ni Mommy sumakay ng taxi. Hahaha. Ako pa nagturo kung pano. Lolz.

Lalong lumayo. At traffic pa. So ayon... may parang cold war. Tapos, I kept asking Mommy if Portia would come. Portia is only 18 when she gave birth to Justin and Kuya Brian was 24 now. Anyway, Protia is one pretty girl. I only saw her in Friendster and woah. She's really gorgeous. I kept on asking things about her. I want to welcome her to the family since my mom never had a warm welcome when it was her time then. Although Mama and Portia have different financial backgrounds, I still had the need to welcome Portia. Besides, we're almost the same age.

We got to G4 at around 10:30. Just in time for the mass there. We heard mass first and then Mariah and I went to the bookstore for a while. Then, we had the Mr. and Ms. Pharmacy photos processed. I'll post them later coz I haven't scanned them yet.

We waited for Mommy Lil's and Tita Lind's family to arrive. While waiting we took some pictures.

The Bunch

From L-R: That's Mikey, Tito Raff, Me, and Mariah on the first row. On the bottom row are Trisha and Patrick. Those are my siblings with our Lolo.

Trisha and Patrick

That's a close-up of my two cute siblings.

When I saw them. Gahd! There were so many children. I'm growing old. Before, Kate (my Aunt who's the same age as I) and I were the only kids there. We're the apples of everyone's eyes. Now, it's different. Ang dami nila! Pero ang pinakababy ay si Justin Andrei! Ang gwapo. Mana kay Portia! Portia is pretty talaga. Even in person. All the while, I thought she was taller... yon pala, she's a lot shorter than I am. Around 4'11 lang sya siguro. (O Gel, matangkad pa rin ako!) Sexy pa rin. Ganda. Simple. Hotchick sa mata ng iba. Well, magaganda talaga lahi namin. Hahaha.

The OLDIES decided where to eat. They said... sa Dad's. Kaso puno. Tapos sa North Park. Puno din. Eh gutom na rin mga kids. Ang dami nila... mga 10 silang bulilits don. Gutom lahat! So ayon... we went to Iceberg. Mind you, wag na kayo kakain don. Service is sooo bad. Even the food tastes bland. The best talaga ang Chef D'Angelo when it comes to pastas! Don sa Iceberg, ang bagal ng service. Sabagay I could understand dahil 25 ata kami na sabay-sabay umorder. Pero it took almost an hour! My gosh. Kawawa kids. So for entertainment, Trisha took the floor and performed her declamation piece. Syempre ako nagintro. Special request nila yong British-American accent ko. Hahaha! Family ko pa lang nakakarinig nyan. Isang sikretong malupit namin.

Tuwang-tuwa naman lahat kay Trisha. Syempre, baby sis ko yon no!

Picture break muna...

Miko, Kuya Mike and Ate Kris

That's Miko, Kuya Mike and Ate Kris. Cute huh? Miko's already 6 years old! He grew so fast!!! Ate Kris is my father's cousin.

Table View

A view of the table...

Tito Raff with Portia and Brian

That's Tito Raff with Portia and Brian, parents of Justin. Brian is my 2nd cousin.

Oldies

The Oldies: Mommy, Mommy Lil, Tita Lyn, Tito Rommel, and Tito Raff. Notice that we never called anyone Lola/Lolo in our family. :P

The Kids with Papa

The kids with Papa. From L-R: Papa, Patrick (Papa and Patrick are twins with diff. birth dates), Jackie (she looks like Portia), Trisha, Guian, Dave and Joey. (I always tease Joey as Dingdong Dantes.) THOSE ARE NOT MY KIDS. Patrick and Trisha are my siblings. Jackie, Guian, Dave, and Joey are my 2nd cousins.

Justin

Justin the newest baby! :) Welcome to the family!

After 10 mins, ready na din yong food. Yong pasta ang tabang super. Hahaha. Eh since gutom na kami... pwede na. Ang masarap sa kanila... yong Chicken. Pati shrimp. Grabe.

Yong mga ice cream nila ok naman... Pero puro ice shavings yong mga halo-halo and mais con hielo, and the likes. Well, mahal din food don. Hehehe. Carry naman eh.

After that, Duty Free kami. Yesterday was the last day eh. Todo shopping ang mga OLDIES. Parang wala ng bukas. In fairness, mas mura nga naman kasi don! Hehehe. Tito Raff kept on insisting that I buy something for myself. Sya daw magbayad lahat. Nahiya naman ako when I can pay for my own. So di na lang ako bumili dahil for sure, he'll insist on paying for them. Eh he gave me so much na! Todo shopping talaga mga oldies don. Halos bilhin na laht. Hahaha. Nakakainip sya minsan.

Buong hapon, I kept on talking to Portia para naman she'll feel welcome.

Kids again

This picture was really funny. Joey noticed that every kid was posing and he ran really fast saying, "You're forgetting me! Wait!" And he made that pose. Funny kids. From L-R: Dave, Trisha, Guian, Jackie, Miko, and Joey (standing).

After non, pagod na lahat. Besides, gutom na naman mga kids dahil they were playing "Simon Says" all day! Biro mo yon?! Pinaglaruan ko nga sila eh. hehehe. Kunwari ako si Simon. hahaha! Mga uto-uto naman sila. Pero ayos ah... Kausapin mo silang lahat ng English, ayos! Gayang-gaya sa cartoons magsalita. Hehehe. And they all speak in English. Yong si Jackie nga, Nursery sa Assumption. P80,000 per year ang tuition. Ayos no? Worth it naman.

Magkano ba yon dito?

Anyway, yon lang bout the family reunion.

Btw, Trisha had a cheering competition last March 9. Then won 2nd place, methinks. It's funny that Trisha's the smallest yet she's the most active!

Last March 11, after the Amazing Grace at the Parish, we went directly to Baywalk. Imagine, I was wearing that outfit the whole day. I hadn't even had the time to change and put powder on my face. But that's okay. Pictures turned out great anyway.

My siblings and I went with Mommy and Tito Raff. We planned to go to Baywalk... but it was sooo full and it smells fishy. We went to Luneta near the bay. It's near the Quirino Grandstand. We took pictures there to pass our time.

At The Parking Lot

At the parking lot with Trisha and Mariah.

Fountain

That pic was taken in front of the fountain/fish pond where giant catfishes were present.

Pacute

Same place. But just the three of us making pretty poses.

Since we got really bored there, we decided to go to Blue Wave. Aryana and H20 were there. :) We took a picture with her...

with Aryana

With Aryana... She's a dancer/singer/performer at SOP, according to Mariah.

We ate dinner there and after that... we had dessert. Mariah and I shared on one big halo-halo.

Halohalo

Inviting you to eat it with us. ;)

Banana Split

Now, look at Trisha and her banana split. She was unable to finish all that and I ate the rest. Hehehe.

Yum!

Yummy Halo-halo! ^__^

Also, last March 14 was Trisha's Declamation Day. She was the representative of her school. :)

Look at her...

Before Declamation

Too bad she didn't win. She didn't had a good costume... but it's okay. I'll bet she'll still be the representative next year. ;)

That's all for now!

In a Parallel Universe...

In a parallel universe, I saw myself like I was staring in the mirror. But this time, SHE was doing something else. Something that I've always wanted to do but never had the chance to actualize the dream.

For the whole of my lifetime, I've always had that dream. It's like the most passionate thing for me. The sexiest. I could probably live my whole life really happy if I know how to do it.

I have always been fascinated with those who could do what I couldn't. I know that I have limits... still, I haven't stopped yearning that someday I'll learn how to.

My first ever memory of asking my parents about it was even way before I entered school. I don't know what my inspiration was... but I said, "Ma, I want to learn that craft. Please..." My puppy dog eyes never got to her. :( I know they want me to do it but as they always reason out, "we couldn't afford it." I guess, they're secretly dreaming it for me too.

Years passed. My dream never faded. Whenever I feel it around me... it's like so intoxicating. That it really takes my breath away. I feel like I was taken to another place. A place of tranquility and solitude.

That dream filled my entire being. My friends say that maybe, just maybe, it was really the THING that I LOOK FOR in a guy. Maybe...

Looking back, all the guys linked to me were really musicians. My first was a drummer. My latest is a vocalist and a guitarist. Isn't that chic? Actually, if I'm gonna mention every guy here, you'd prolly agree with my friends.

I guess, I really won't go out with someone who doesn't have the same passion as I do. I don't want to be a cradle of ash. Of which the fire was long gone. I wouldn't want that. I'd want the fire to be always burning. Like an eternal flame.

Oh yes, that girl plays the piano so well. I wish that was really me. The girl in the parallel universe.

Mr. and Ms. Pharmacy Pictures

It's about time. Whew.

Sorry if the pics are dark and appear grainy. It was dark in the school and in the auditorium. :P Thanks to my mom for taking the pictures and for the full support. ^__^

The contest started with the SIKLAB. It's a sing and dance contest for where every batch participated. We were only able to take one picture of that part of the contest and here it is.

siklab 3rd year

That's the 3rd year and they danced "Lady Marmalade." It was a very good dance. Really funny and their costumes were nice!

Let's proceed to the Mr. and Ms. Pharmacy proper. While waiting for the contest to start, the contestants were taking several pictures. :P The first segment of the contest would be the "Famous Couple" thingimajig. The first year couple (Yen and Lester) dressed up as Kris Aquino and James Yap. Randy and I, representing the 2nd year, dressed up as Beyonce Knowles and Austin Powers in the movie "Goldmember." The 3rd year couple (Angela and JR) dressed up as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in the movie "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." The 4th years (Che and Raniel) dressed up as Heart and the guy in the local teleserye "Panday." The 5th years dressed up as Marimar and Sergio in the famous telenovela "Marimar". During the presentation, we were asked impromptu to make a stint upstage! Could you believe that. We weren't even able to prepare for that. Anyway, here are the pics.

After that, the SIKLAB continued and for the break, Mr. and Ms. Pharmacy contest was back. This time, for the Talent Portion. Before that, we took pictures again!

That's Yns, Steph, Me and Randy. They're my blockmates! :) Thank you guys for everything!

Randy and Me

Randy and me.

The first years made an on-the-spot acting show. They imitated James Yap and Kris Aquino. Hehehe. ^__^

I sang "Til they take my heart away" and "I'll never get over you getting over me" while Randy played the guitar. It was quite good. Unfortunately, the mic they gave me was defective. So it was really soft. Daya!

Ate Angela and Kuya JR sang "Magmahal Muli" and imitated Say Yutadco and Sam Milby.

Ate Che and Kuya Raniel did a sing and dance showdown! It was quite good. Really fun to watch! ^__^

Ate Reeva and her partner sang a duet song. I wasn't able to watch because we needed to change for our long gown and q&a portion.

After dressing up, we took the break as an opportunity to eat and to take more pictures! ^__^

After a short while, we were asked to enter the stage again. We strutted around the stage and then it was the question and answer portion.

Just like an ordinary pageant, the contestants were asked to pick a piece of paper where the name of a judge was written. I chose Ms. Cary Co, my teacher in Pharm21. :P She was the former Ms. Pharm. :P

Question for 1st year: "Why do donuts have holes?!" Hehehe. Ang sagot nya nong una, "Syempre, kasi kung walang hole, san ilalagay yong filling?" Well, natanga kaming lahat don. Tapos inulit nya yong sagot nya. Tapos inulit yong tanong at yon pa rin sagot nya. Inulit ulit yong tanong.

Amp. Coño talk na. Sablay pa. Sayang talaga.

Yong sakin naman, "What do you think is the significance of this pageant?"

Yong sa third year, "Given the chance to be an actress, what would you choose: be an actress or continue as a pharmacist?" Sabi nya... pharmacist kasi gusto nya talaga yon. Basta mahaba pa sagot nya.

Kay Ate Che naman, "How would you make UP Manila stand out among the other colleges?" Kasi nga daw, kapag sinabi mo na taga UP ka... ang isip agad nila ay UP Diliman. Pano daw maiaangat ang UP Manila to be well-known.

Weird ng tanong no?

Sa 3rd year, "Are you nationalistic? Would you leave the country to work abroad after you graduate?" Sayang.

Yong sa 4th year, "What do you want me to ask you and why?" Amp! Nangampaya Si kuya raniel. Well, candidate nga sya for elections. USC Councilor nga ata yon. Ay ewan. Di ko sya gusto.

Eto pics ng mga Mr. Pharmacy contestants.
